As muchabstracted and I are saying below, I'm fairly sure the man did not begin life with that name.
It was very hard to write that sentence, because I couldn't call Arthur Uther Pendragon by his first name, and it just seemed really wrong to call him Pendragon.
*snickers* I'm not sure if I should characterize this as "problems that don't occur to people when they change their names" or "perks that sometimes accompany changing one's name.
