I wish I were going. I'm constantly going back and forth on the issue of whether I want to go further with medieval studies, and that Kalamazoo program really makes we want to be a medievalist. All those panels on Becket! And there's even stuff about The Life of St. AEthelthryth!
I might -- am still considering it. I went last year and had a thoroughly miserable time but that was my own fault for not getting my Shakespeare paper done beforehand...
I won't be able to go this year, but I've been thinking about it... Other than my undergrad degree, I don't have any particularly notable academic credentials -- do you think that either my semi-professional medieval musicianhood or my day job as a rare/antiquarian book cataloguer would be a sufficiently acceptable excuse for attending?
My friend the_paper_nun is going to see the sights, and she's a children's librarian; all she knows about the Middle Ages she learned from me. You don't need an excuse to attend; go because it's fun.
