I did cheat and skip over songs I really didn't know.

1. Foul and stinkande is my roting.
2. ...A kind of conscientious objection, kind of dodging the draft...
3. Bo'i kala, bo'i kala... (This one isn't fair, because there are several songs it could be, and there are a gazillion tunes for the song it is. It did show up on my playlist, though.)
4. Now it's Turkish delight on a moonlit night.
5. There was a table set for six and five were there.
6. We walk in the world of safe people, and at night we walk into our houses and burn.
7. They called me Buckwheat! They called me Eddie.
8. If I ever lose my mouth, I won't have to talk --
9. In my peach party dress no one dares, no one cares to tell me where the pretty girls are
10. I think of flying down into a sea of pens and feathers
11. You broke the bread. We drank the wine.
12. The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation
13. So I knelt there at the delta, at the alpha and the omega
14. Hey, old man, how can you stand to think that way?
15. The pirate gets the ship and the girl tonight, breaks a bottle to christen her.
16. ...Who by his lady's command, who by his own hand...
17. I am shielded in my armor...
18. We burn our boats each new year.
19. Jane came by with a lock of your hair, said you gave it to her...
20. It's coming from the sorrow in the street, the holy places where the races meet.

Not a bad set, but it does displease me that several of my favorite musicians are completely unrepresented here.

Stolen from several people on [livejournal.com profile] musesfool's friendlist...

Let's see . . .

7. "Grade 9," Barenaked Ladies
12. "Africa," Toto
17. "I Am a Rock," Simon & Garfunkle

I'm completely lost with the rest.

Sadly, as I don't use WinAmp or any other such software, I can't throw my own hat in for this one.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] ayelle, I couldn't remember what that was from, and it was going to drive me crazy.

It's belated, but I don't care :) --haven't read the answers or the other comments.

4. TMBG, "Istanbul"
9. Tori Amos, "Precious Things"
11. U2, "Until the End of the World"
17. Simon & Garfunkel, "I Am a Rock"

15 and 19 sound vaguely familiar.
