Catherynne M. Valente, [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna, has won the Tiptree Award ("an annual literary prize for science fiction or fantasy that expands or explores our understanding of gender") for The Orphan's Tales: In the Night Garden. I told you all to read it before. Now you have no excuse.

Mazel tov, [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna!

In other news, the kitchen's finally clean and I can sleep.

I read it on Saturday and missed shul because I couldn't put it down. Great stuff. I really enjoyed the Sigrids. There's a sequel, right? I'm kinda curious about the frame-story big sister, who seems like she ought to have a story.

Apparently the draft of the sequel is sitting on [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna's desk waiting for revisions. (I like knowing these things.) The release date for it is October. I agree with you that Dinarzad should totally have a story, and I thought you'd appreciate the Sigrids. :D
