While working on the current research paper, I have added the following words to my computer spellchecker:

sistrum
metacritical
literalized
unanswerability

ETA: postlapsarian
surtextual
subtextual
Christological

I am impressed that the spellchecker knew the word apotheosized.

I campaign for the higher education of spellcheckers everywhere.

I just turn the spellchecker off when writing Old French papers. Autocorrect, too. I've had the computer correct "ceus" to "cues" one too many times.

Whereas my autocorrect is so attuned to class-notes shortcuts that it can have ridiculous results the few times those abbreviations are used for other purposes (the chief annoyance may be, anytime I mistype 'do' as 'dp', I end up with 'due process' instead. But it's still easier to put up with this than to write out 'due process' every time it comes up...
