Oh my GOD.

This world we live in terrifies me. Normally, I try not to pray for things that are human responsibilities and involve human free will, but this week I am praying, fervently, that we vote in a new president.

Are we sure that that would never have happened under any other administration, that if one makes a statement in a public place that could be construed as a threat to the president and someone directly decides to tell the FBI about it, they wouldn't take ten minutes to come investigate? I'm not sure if they used to be so stringent about following up on it, but even manifestly idle threats to any president have always been taken REALLY seriously and disproportionate to anything else. We have an insanely high rate of successful and attempted presidential assasination.
