Oct. 2nd, 2007 07:49 pmMy roommate and I have decided that the whole Peter-in-Ireland plot is utterly useless, that Maya and Alejandro aren't much better, and that we don't want Takezo Kensei to be able to regenerate.
The murder of Kaito Nakamura and attempted murder of Angela Petrelli does interest us, however. It occurred to us (well, me) this evening that the murderer might be Claude. He's of the correct generation. He could easily be present on the Deveaux rooftop when Nakamura gets killed. The absence by a body would be explained by the fact that he never does fall off the roof; he just knocks Nakamura off and goes invisible. This also solves the problem of the invisible strangler in 2.02.
Anyway, this would make the season better, because Claude makes everything better.
I need a good Heroes icon.

Date: 2007-10-03 03:26 am (UTC)I kinda like Kaito being the ancestral mutant and a reluctant hero. Shall see how that pans out.
I dislike that Claire's Dad FAILS at witness protection. HELLO. Give the girl a haircut and a bottle of Miss Clairol at least. Seriously, it does no good to hide if your family looks and acts in the exact same ways. I'd send the boy off to be with other family or to a foreign boarding school and change the appearance of wife, daughter, and self.
I'm still feeling out the Wonder Twins. They're kinda refreshingly naive. But I am slightly irritated at having yet another set of subtitles to read.
I love the Molly Walker has Two Daddies Show. ^_^
Um. Where are Micah and Niki? I mean, I know they weren't favorite, but really, there's been two shows already and we haven't even seen them in a flashback yet.
All of my Heroes icons are shareable and credited in the keywords. ^_^
Still loving the show, just have a few gripes is all.

Date: 2007-10-03 04:15 am (UTC)You know, stupidly, I didn't even think of that. Maybe the producers thought we all wouldn't recognize Hayden as a brunette.
I'm there with you on Molly having two daddies.
Looks like we'll see Niki and Micah next week -- they were in the preview.

Date: 2007-10-03 05:43 am (UTC)(Really this is just one of the things I'm okay with handwaving, 'cause it would suck for Hayden to be in a wig all season, and I like Lyle. At least Claire got a haircut!)

Date: 2007-10-03 01:47 pm (UTC)I am, on the whole, still neutral on Maya and Alejandro. Though I kind of miss Nikki/Jessica. Though not as much as I miss calling Jessica ikkiN.
Peter in Ireland annoys me, but Peter often annoys me. Why does Milo Ventigmilia have the most successful post-Gilmore Girls career of anybody? There is no God.
It could be that Claude is the scary killer dude, but my assumption has always been that scary killer dude is also the "worse than Sylar" guy mentioned by Molly. Who, I suppose, could be Claude, but I doubt that. Since, A) Claude "seeing you" back would be irksome, and B) I don't want to have to totally revise my opinion of Claude because he's the embodiment of all evil. Also, C) Eccleston said in interviews that he was really happy not to play the standard British evil dude.

Date: 2007-10-03 02:53 pm (UTC)I think I'm just disappointed that so far it feels like the season has just been setting things up with no real action, yet. Kind of like how the intro to the first Star Trek movie was sooo slow compared to the Star Wars movie.
Also the first Heroes was somewhat realistic except for mutants which was still believable. The back in time segments here are more Xena and not believable. Wasn't Japan very insular? I think the hakujin would have been shunned, not accepted like a normal person as portrayed here. For a Japanese woman to fall in love with him would be much more dramatic (ugly hakujin, going against culture, etc.) and there would be more conflict in her conflicting desires. Similarly Hiro's dress and style would not have been taken well. I remember my aunt saying that when my grandparents went back to visit Japan that they were not well received by their relatives because their Japanese language was out of style and they were too dark/tan. Japan being open to strangers seems very wrong.
Maybe Kensei comes back to the future with Hiro and shags Claire's mom. Nathan's not her father after all!

Date: 2007-10-04 05:24 pm (UTC)Not that I know very much about Japanese culture, but I expect you're right about all that. Silly NBC, totally overdoing it on suspension of disbelief.
I would approve of Kensei as Claire's dad, anyway. It would make so much more sense than what we've already got. For certain degrees of "sense".

Date: 2007-10-04 02:14 pm (UTC)Alas, it's clear that the attacker and Kaito both fall off:
So no Claude for you, at least for now. ;)
