The magic stone carpet. Did you realize we're still wandering around in an alternate dimension? (Too bad even this dimension has our various towns located so far away from each other.)

Alternatively, I'm still very fond of the bench in Central Park upon which the exact location of the oracle was determined.

It was an excellent bench, and a wonderful place to locate one's ass when one is pulling things out of it.

By the way, I love the whole CD you sent, but I've been listening to "Abraham" on constant repeat for the last two days.

Y'know, that song seems to get stuck on repeat on my copy of the CD as well. Probably because it's one of the few songs I've ever heard that references Canadian history and does it well.

Since we'e only met twice in person, and at one of those, you were busily bridesmaid-ing, I'll have to record watching/listening to your line by line translation of one of the aliyot on SImchat Torah into Old Icelandic, and thinking how much fun that must be.

Twice, of course! I apologize. I didn't do the translation, by the way, I found it on the web.

Should any other place take on the same geeky custom, I'd do the translation myself next time.

I wonder if there's a Bible out there in Law French. Simchat Torah is just screaming for a rendition of Moses's blessings in the language that produced sentences like "Il jete la brickbat through la fenetre." And ideally, with a British accent.

oh and expect a question about medieval nuns from me at some point soon. I need a point in the direction of some research. But more on that later. I need to formulate the question properly.

I'll be glad to be of service as far as medieval nuns go, but I should say I know much more about nuns in England than nuns anywhere else.

Ah let's see... the first time we met in person hanging out on your deck with carrot stick charcoal as a successful writing implement- or why big kids should not be allowed to play with fire either, the strange vegetarian chinese place with ineffective spoons, Lord of the Rings 3 (were you awake the whole time?), the futile field trip to the Fordham library to return a large stack of books, adventures in inflating air mattresses (with your mom), the somewhat un-anatomically correct heart at the Franklin Institute, 'I'm going to go visit the chamber of commerce', utilizing the pacific time zone to your advantage at night on aim, and of course, shavuot at Rachel's with the bed of sin.
(Any other good ones you can think of?)

Nothing matches the sheer transgressive perfection of the bed of sin.

Seriously, I think that definitely may be the funniest one ever. Rachel's reaction only made it even better. :)
