The point of this whole LJ thing seems to involve networking, so feel free to link to this journal. Just don't link with my last name included... I have discovered that googling my first and last name together comes up with all sorts of stuff already, some of which I'm not sure I want available for the world to see.

I would just link with your livejournal name. If you don't have any contact info listed on your page (which i don't think you really do), then I wouldn't worry too much.

for the welcome. Should not be here right now. Should be finishing my masters' thesis. Will finish my masters' thesis before I sleep tonight. Or at least come close enough to a conclusion to email the disaster to my advisors and pray that they take it...
